Dream Guitar Works came to fruition from a spark of passion and frustration. Owner and founder, Kevin Ellis, always loved music. He played guitar since his early teens. He always piddled with amps and guitars as most boys do when growing up. He became a Peavey Guitar fanatic in his older years. Collecting and studying these guitars, as well as, the fantastic Les Paul and Benedetto builds.  These were inspirational. The craftsmanship was remarkable.

Kevin set out on a quest to find custom repair work and restoration for guitars. He also searched for luthiers who would build custom guitars.  He found these services available locally, but not always at reasonable costs. In addition, none of the local luthiers produced custom builds with the high level of craftsmanship he desired.

Life circumstances then led Kevin to rethink his future. He decided to further his education at the Atlanta Guitar Works School of Building and Repair. Kevin had always been skillful with his hands. His initial background  was in auto accessory installation and auto body repair. He also had  a father who was quite crafty, and skillful so there was definitely a genetic link.  Kevin's experience at the Atlanta Guitar Works was so beneficial. He learned so much from Tim, Brian, Jody, and Garry. Thus, inspired and now exhilarated...Kevin starts Dream Guitar Works.
